{"id":667,"date":"2008-08-02T18:02:47","date_gmt":"2008-08-02T16:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marblestation.com\/blog\/?p=667"},"modified":"2012-04-26T16:27:24","modified_gmt":"2012-04-26T14:27:24","slug":"instalacion-de-vmware-tools-en-una-ubuntu-virtualizada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marblestation.com\/?p=667","title":{"rendered":"Instalaci\u00f3n de VMware tools en una Ubuntu virtualizada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Una vez hayamos creado una m\u00e1quina virtual (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/player\/\">vmplayer<\/a> y <a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyvmx.com\/\">vmx<\/a> o directamente <a href=\"\">vmware server<\/a>) con Ubuntu instalado, necesitamos tener las VMware tools instaladas para poder explotar al m\u00e1ximo la m\u00e1quina virtual.<\/p>\n<p>Para ello, tendremos que compilar e instalar las <a href=\"http:\/\/open-vm-tools.sourceforge.net\/\">Open VM tools<\/a>:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<pre>\r\nsudo apt-get install libicu-dev build-essential libgtk2.0-dev libproc-dev libdumbnet-dev xorg-dev\r\n\r\nwget http:\/\/switch.dl.sourceforge.net\/sourceforge\/open-vm-tools\/open-vm-tools-2008.07.01-102166.tar.gz\r\ntar -zxvf open-vm-tools-2008.07.01-102166.tar.gz\r\ncd open-vm-tools-2008.07.01-102166\/\r\n.\/configure\r\nmake\r\ncd modules-only\/linux\/\r\nfor i in *; do mv ${i} ${i}-only; tar -cf ${i}.tar ${i}-only; done\r\ncd ..\/..\/..\/\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, en el .vmx de la m\u00e1quina virtual nos aseguramos que exista una referencia al &#8220;linux.iso&#8221; que contiene las VMware tools:<\/p>\n<pre>\r\n# Settings for the optional virtual CDROM, ISO-image\r\nide1:1.present = \"TRUE\"\r\nide1:1.fileName = \"c:\\program files\\vmware\\vmware player\\linux.iso\"\r\nide1:1.deviceType = \"cdrom-image\"\r\nide1:1.mode = \"persistent\"\r\nide1:1.startConnected = \"TRUE\"\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Reiniciamos la m\u00e1quina y podremos montar el CD para extraer\/descomprimir el vmware-tools. A continuaci\u00f3n tendremos que copiar los m\u00f3dulos que habiamos compilado de Open VM Tools:<\/p>\n<pre>\r\nmv -f open-vm-tools-2008.07.01-102166\/modules-only\/linux\/*.tar vmware-tools-distrib\/lib\/modules\/source\/\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Y ya podemos proceder a la instalaci\u00f3n:<\/p>\n<pre>\r\ncd vmware-tools-distrib\/\r\nsudo .\/vmware-install.pl\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>A partir del siguiente reinicio ya podemos disfrutar de las nuevas posibilidades, como por ejemplo los directorios compartidos de la m\u00e1quina host:<\/p>\n<pre>\r\nsharedFolder.maxNum = \"1\"\r\nsharedFolder0.present = \"TRUE\"\r\nsharedFolder0.enabled = \"TRUE\"\r\nsharedFolder0.readAccess = \"TRUE\"\r\nsharedFolder0.writeAccess = \"TRUE\"\r\nsharedFolder0.hostPath = \"C:\\Users\\usuarioA\"\r\nsharedFolder0.guestName = \"serblanco\"\r\nsharedFolder0.expiration = \"never\"\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>O utilizar la herramienta de control:<\/p>\n<pre>\r\nsudo vmware-toolbox\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Lo \u00fanico que no consigo hacer funcionar correctamente es el rat\u00f3n, no me detecta el tercer bot\u00f3n ni el scroll.
